Thank you for your interest in wishing to  become a Volunteer with CAPS.

At this time, and for the foreseeable future, we are no longer accepting applications to Volunteer with our Society.  Should this change, we will update this page immediately.

Many thanks to all!

          The Opportunity of a Lifetime

CAPS not only helps the animals in its care, it also gives people who love animals a chance to make a wonderful difference in their own lives. If you have a heart for animals in need, whether you are 18 or 81, we have many ways for you to get involved.

We try to match our team members with avenues of service that will be most fitting and fulfilling for their personalities, lifestyle, talents and training. Cuddler, groomer, rolling change, animal transportation, pet photography, fundraising, info, ticket table worker, event volunteer, clerical work, folding laundry, pet food/supplies organizer – these are just a few of the possibilities that demand only a few hours of your time on a relaxed schedule that fits your busy lifestyle.

Requirements:  Must be willing to show the foster animals in our care the kindness and love they deserve as they await their forever home.   Must enjoy hearing the purrs of happy, contented cats and kittens.   Must be willing to play ball, cuddle, or brush cats at every available opportunity. Must have an up to date tetanus shot. (They are good for 10 years.)

Pay: Knowing you have made a difference in the lives of stray and abandoned animals.

Benefits:  Hugs, love and trust of happy, contented foster animals who now know they can trust people.

No experience required.  We train all willing volunteers!

If you are not afraid of hard work, and like to be around loving and friendly animals,  we have a great opportunity for you!  We are always looking for volunteers to help with the daily chores of caring for the animals at our two largest foster homes. Chores include: feeding, emptying and washing litter pans, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping and yes, even washing windows!  Can’t help with chores?  CAPS is also looking for volunteers to help with activities such as fundraising, posters, attendance at CAPS open houses, and “cuddlers.”  A cuddler is someone willing to spend time with the cats and kittens in care, cuddle, groom and help these loving animals become more socialized in preparation for their ‘furever’ home.

We would love to have you come on board. The gift of your time and talents will be greatly appreciated by all of us!

See for yourself what fun it is to spend special time with the CAPS kitties. Hope you enjoy this little glimpse into life at Violet Cottage.

If you are interested, please complete our volunteer application (for adults 19 and older).

We are currently not accepting youth / junior volunteers (aged 17 & 18); however, please check back in the fall as youth volunteer opportunities may be available at that time. Youth volunteer applications are different from the adult application and must be co-signed by the parents.
